With considerably less CNY visiting to do this year, the Husb and I were glad to have the extra time to spend with the kids.
We made breakfast before bringing the kids downstairs for some water play. It was our attempt to tire them out enough for an early nap.
The morning of 大年初一 was a little rushed so we had our own 拜年 on 初二 before heading out for a friend’s place where we got to feast on many yummilicious homemade dishes.

The husb and I then brought the kids to USS to catch the fireworks. Since we were there, we took photos with the Minions again! I’m in the midst of Project Mascot Desensitization for the lil’ dragonlady and she obviously still needs lots of practice!

The kids woke up and started
messing up playing with their toys on their own. Now, this would be perfect if they can put the toys back after play!
After nap time, we went to my folks’ place to get a big family photo taken.
My kids really surprised me this year with how much they are enjoying yusheng now!
Sure makes it easier for the husb to indulge us.
We decided to brave the crowds at the River Hong Bao with the kids to let them have a feel of the CNY atmosphere.
Got the kids to look for their zodiacs and took pictures together – something my parents used to do with us when I was little.
The displays this year were beautiful. We especially loved the ones of the iconic old playgrounds!
Last day of the long weekend! We got the family to come over for lohei (yes again!) and let the kids have some fun together while we chilled out.
Although there were plenty of whining to endure at times, it was so nice to bring the kids out and spend lots of time together.
