If you are familiar with the history of the Selegie area, you may remember Tao’s Restaurant (陶餐厅) which has since closed their doors. Established by former members of Tao’s Restaurant, SET is one of the newest restaurants to open at PoMo. SET, 顾名思义, offers attractively priced prix fixe concept that offers flexibility in menu choices. Crafted only with the freshest ingredients to ensure the best food quality, SET presents a five-course lunch at $28.80++ and six-course dinner at $38.80++.
Here are some of our favourites:
Bacon and Mushroom Gratin with Homemade Toast – this was our favourite!
I’m a mushroom fan, so this Grilled King Oyster Mushroom was right up my alley.
I’m a traditionalist when it comes to soups so the Double Boiled Herbal Soup works for us!
Love the presentation of the Miso Soup with Sake!
With five main course options (and I heard that the chef is experimenting with new dishes to add to the menu), guests are spoilt for choice! We tried three of the options:
Baby Pork Back Ribs
Gosh, the meat is so tender it melts in your mouth!
Marinated Rack of Lamb
I don’t take lamb as I’m afraid of the 羊骚味, but this had no such smell when I tried a small bite!
Roasted Beef Tenderloin
The pan-seared tender and juicy crowd’s favourite won us over.
We were all stuffed by the time we were done with starters, soup and the main course. But there’s always space for desserts! Some highlights include Huai San Jello (a unique combination of a Chinese herb and jello), Espresso Creme Brulee, Pistachio Panna Cotta and Poached Pear with Gelato.
Now now..isn’t the SET value for money?!
Plus, SET has private dining rooms which are great for cozy dinner parties with friends or families!
Note: we were invited for a dinner review at SET’s. Opinions are my own.
