Work has been crazy and I’ve been returning to the office on my off-days to compensate for some days of leave I need to take this month. The husb is away for work frequently (as usual!), so it’s just me and the kiddos most of the time. With tension headaches, migraine, and muscle tension from neck to calves making their appearances again, I’m reminded why I requested to go on a part-time work arrangement.
Ironically, the ones who seem to be taking up all my energy are the ones who seem to provide me with the endless energy. That’s the amazing thing about motherhood, I guess. You just keep going about caring for your children, no matter how exhausted you are.
Solo parenting may be hard, but the bonding time I get with my babies is priceless!
Our every other night conversations would include:
Cub: “Mommy, can I sleep on your bed? You can roll me back later.”
Lil’ dragonlady: “I want to sleep on Mommy’s bed!” and plonk herself on my side of the bed.
Despite the nagging and scolding to get them to finish their dinner and keep away their toys, brushing of teeth and changing of PJs, it warms my heart when they still want to cuddle mommy to sleep at the end of the day. That’s probably how moms just keep going!
