I have a positive impression of Julia Gabriel’s programmes after the awesome experience cub had at PlayClub and was most interested to hear what Julia Gabriel herself have to share in her Positive Parenting Series.
The husb and I were invited to the workshop, “Developing Your Child’s Imagination“. Julia shared many tips on what we parents can do to support the development of imagination. Encouraging imaginary play, creation of stories or through experience and travel are some of the many ways we can do to help develop imagination in our children. The workshop also looks into how to develop the power to see possibilities and situations that will enhance children’s potential for success; and how to engage and enjoy the imaginative process with our children.
Through sharing of experiences, we also got to learn from fellow parents and had good laughs over how similar and different we are in managing our kids.
We left the workshop with more awareness in how we can encourage more imagination and creativity in our kids and not kill it (unintentionally). It was also an eye-opener for me as I watched how the husb was more involved in the activities than some of us mommies there. Gotta give my man credit for being such a hands-on dad and wanting to learn more on how to be a better parent.
