With effect from June, I’m a PTWM!
It’s career suicide but I’ve been meaning to go part-time for months. Ever since the husb’s work travel schedule gone crazy-hectic, I find myself feeling depleted all the time trying to juggle my role as a solo-parenting FTWM. Before long, I could feel the strain on my mental and physical well-being. I take ages to recover when I fall sick since I don’t get any proper rest. I feel frustrated easily and the kids sometimes bear the brunt of my outbursts that happens when fatigue meets frustration. It’s a lose-lose situation. Hence the husb was fully supportive of the move (but was quick to add that SAHM is not for me)!
With the extra 12 hours during the work week, I will reschedule classes and free up our weekends so that the husb is spared from class runs when he’s back in Singapore and of course, spend some time on myself.
I’m so excited to have more time!
