To pamper his wife after some months of solo-parenting, the husb readily agreed to her request to head to Bangkok cos she badly needs to update her wardrobe of inner wear. Since it was essentially a grab-and-go shopping trip, we decided to go sans kids. With the blessings of the grandparents who didn’t mind taking the kids all day and all night long for 3 days and 2 nights, of course!
Since our focus was going to be the malls, we tried a different hotel this time – Centara Grand. The location of the hotel was EXCELLENT. It is linked to Central World, which means Zen and Isetan departmental stores are just next door. Erawan Shrine is just across the road from Central World. Siam Paragon and Siam Square are a linked bridge away.
We snagged a gorgeous room, with a view of the part of the city that we have grown to be quite familiar with.
The hotel breakfast spread is decent but food is pretty average!
So we went about and did our usual:
Roadside food delights
We managed to get almost all that we set out to buy, except this set of toys that I REALLY wanted to get for the kids but they didn’t have any stock of! 🙁
Wreck-it Ralph figurines from Pop-up Vinyl!
Age has definitely caught up with us. Instead of heading out to look for more roadside delights, we ordered paad-thai and tom-yum soup to enjoy in the comfort of the room.
Before long, it was time to head home..
–to our babies!!!
It was a really short getaway, but at least the husb and I got to spend some one-to-one time with each other!
