Accumulated physical and mental fatigue. Here is how my week days look:
Cub wakes me up (usually minutes before my alarm goes off) and goes, “Mommy, the sun is up. Can I have my milk milk?” I had told him he’s not supposed to drink milk after he brushed his teeth before bed and can only ask me for milk when he sees sunlight. Gotta give it to him for taking this very seriously. 🙂
I prepare for work while making sure the kids don’t fight and kill hurt each other.
Drop them off at my mum’s room before I leave for work.
1200 – 1300 :
Lunch hour aka time to run errands!
On usual days, I morph into NaggyMomster who repeats “chew and swallow your food while you watch TV!”, “stop spilling/spitting food everywhere you go, meimei!!” for 214123 times during dinner time.
On good days, they are done with dinner when I’m back and that made a WHOLE WIDE WORLD of difference. I can’t tell you how thankful I am when I could actually take my shower with no one to disturb me, and have some dinner while they play with their cousins or watch TV!
The kids give everyone a goodnight hug before we return to our room to start on our bedtime routine – brush teeth, wash up, change of PJs, revise on the Chinese words the cub has learned from his weekly class, read a book (if it’s not too late), SLEEP!
If I’m lucky, they go to sleep before 9pm. I tend to doze off while getting them to sleep. Depending on how tired I am, sometimes I wake at 11pm, 12mn or 2am to do the chores – washing of bottles, packing of school bags, etc and go back to sleep after.
If I’m very lucky, I don’t doze off with them and go about doing the chores.
If I can still keep my eyes open, I would work on some of my to-dos.
0200 – 0300 :
If the lil’ dragon is sleeping with me, she will usually ask for a bottle of milk around this time. To avoid her crying that may wake the cub, I would give it to her.
Sometimes I’m still going about at my chores at this time, so she wakes to play with me a little before going back to sleep.
The lil’ dragon asks for milk AGAIN! Most of the time, she cannot go back to sleep after this.
And the cycle repeats itself until we step into weekend madness!
