We managed to score two tickets to the Hi-5 House Party last weekend. It couldn’t have come at a better time cos I was having trouble keeping the cub entertained while the husb is away for yet another long work trip. Although the cub and I were not very familiar with their songs and dance moves, we went expecting a good show nonetheless!
And a good show it was! There were plenty of interaction with the audience and the kids in the first few rows were clearly huge fans of Hi-5. Although we were seated at the back, Lauren came close to our section during one of the segments and got cub excited. Although it was around his bedtime halfway through the show, cub fought the ZZ-monster while watching and said no when I asked if he wants to head home to sleep. It’s his style to take ages to warm up so I gave in to getting a Hi-5 merchandise hoping that he could be more enthusiastic to participate in the singing and dancing. Worked quite well!
When the show ended, he told me, “Mommy, I like the Hi-5 show!” That sure made all my effort to fight peak hour traffic in wet weather and carpark woes worthwhile. And I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he actually knows there’s a difference in the new and old Hi-5 group! (My bad for underestimating him!)
Note: We were given complimentary tickets to the performance. Opinions expressed are my own.
