It took me some effort to convince the husb to face the fear of flying long haul with the cub and bring him along for this trip. I was crossing my fingers that the cub would surprise his dad and earn some credit for a possible US trip in the near future. But nah, he didn’t sleep well on the flight and so did we. It could be that the cub was overtired as he only got to sleep around 11ish, which is 3 hours later than his bedtime. I was counting my lucky stars he didn’t disturb other passengers! But for the days that followed, I volunteered to cut my shopping time just so the husb could shop more since he went ahead with my call to bring along cub.
Inflight – entertained
glad the children’s menu was to his liking!
[tip: bring along snacks, coloring books, some crayons, stickers, whatever that your kid is into at the moment – for times when inflight entertainment doesn’t work.]
We arrived in Zurich early in the morning around 8ish. Since it was too early to check in, we dropped by at the relatives’ rented apartment to drop off our luggage and freshen up. To perk us up, the relatives brought us to check out the shopping streets at Bahnhofstrasse.
figuring out the best route
every day highlight of the cub on this trip – taking the different types of transportation
En route, we stopped outside St Peter Church for a family picture.
Switzerland – land of pretty watches
It was the tail-end of summer sales and the husb got himself some pretty good deals, while we mother-and-son amuse ourselves with mirrors!
One of my favourite ways to take in sights is by cruise. We caught glimpses from the Lake of Zurich through a leisure boat ride from Bürkliplatz, and checked off another mode of transportation for cub.
With my lovely cousins-in-laws who did all the itinerary and planning for the trip, and my aunts-&-uncles-in-law who were great help looking out for the cub and keeping him entertained.
