Oops sorry, baby cub..yet another very late entry on your monthly updates. I suppose giving you your very own playmate aka babysis is one of the best reasons ever? You probably don’t think so now but I’m sure you will appreciate her company in future.
The past two months have been crazy. You have started throwing terrible tantrums. These days, not a day goes by without some kinda meltdown from you. Your Royal Mang-Zang-ness is such a hum-bao (crybaby) now too. You kick up a huge fuss and/or cry big fat tears when things don’t go your way. That’s not all. You even smack, punch, head-butt, kick and bite us at times when you throw your tantrums. With your herculean strength, we feel abused!
Honestly, I’m getting quite fed up just listening to your tantrums every day while I settle your babysis. I gotta keep reminding myself that you will outgrow this stage eventually (hopefully sooner than later!) and this is all part and parcel of parenthood. Thankfully, I have your Daddy and grandparents to share the pain, or else any postnatal depression will be caused by you and not your babysis!
You have not been eating well. Initially I thought it’s teething but now that the two molars are out, you are still not finishing your food. You like to keep the mouthfuls we feed you inside your mouth instead of swallowing them after chewing. And when we ask you to swallow, you dig the food out and throw them all over the floor! That is extremely annoying and disgusting!
Mommy needs to read up and figure out how to help you overcome the tantrum-throwing and get rid of the disgusting habit.
When you are in your (now kinda rare) good mood, you are the cutest angel. You give us the twinkle-in-the-eye smile, kisses, hugs, and follow instructions!
LANGUAGE & COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
‘Apple’ remains the word-of-the-month as it’s the most distinct and the only word that you are willing to repeat when we ask you to. You are kinda slow in this department but at least there are some progress! We now pick up more words that you attempt to use.
Complete with the action of putting up a finger and pointing upwards. Usually used when you want to go up to the bedrooms.
Complete with the action of putting up a finger and pointing downwards. Usually used when you want to go to level 1 to play.
It sounds more like “Dar-deee”. Daddy has become your new best friend in the past couple of months as he plays with you the most and puts you to bed every night. I was able to confirm that “Dar-deee” means “Daddy” when you kept calling out for your dad as you didn’t see him around when you woke up in the middle of the night. Another night was when you woke up calling “Dar-deee” and went back to sleep smiling when you saw Daddy in the room. You are such a Daddy’s boy..!
This basically covers all round-like objects and balloons.
You know to shake your head when you don’t want and nod when you want something. I’m guessing you do not know how to go “no no no” yet, so you shake your head violently whenever you don’t want anymore food. Oh wells, at least now you can let us know when to stop feeding you.
When you want to go up to start on your bedtime routine, you would tell us “up”, point upwards at the stairs, and put another finger in your mouth to indicate you want to brush your teeth. When we tell you to take a clean diaper out for your change, you know to take it from the cupboard and put the diaper on the bed where we change you.
With you understanding more words now, we have one more little helper in the house. When I ask you to take the remote control to me, you scan through the room and pass it to me when you find it. You are very helpful when it comes to throwing rubbish into the bins too. 😉
Two months ago, you started walking. Now, you know how to run! Thanks to playing catch with Matthias gorgor almost every other night.
Now that you are supposed to be more adept with using your hands and fingers, we let you play with drawing-with-crayons more often. You quite enjoy it..especially when drawing on the wall, table or floor. -_-” Based on what I’ve observed, it seems like you are going to be right-handed just like your Daddy and Mommy.
Baby cub, I understand that there is much for you to get used to now that you have a babysis to share our attention. We are doing our best to make sure you don’t feel left out. At least you had our full-attention for a good 17 months. Teanne has to share our attention with you from day one. So I hope you can sayang her more..ok?
We LOVE you so much! Looking forward to see what type of gorgor you will be. 🙂
