We had our 28-weeks check at the gynae‘s last weekend. The lil’ dragonlady is at 1.2kg now – same as her brother at 28 weeks! A pity we don’t have a nice ultrasound scan of her yet. Dr Beh told us she’s growing okay and the weight is average, which is good enough news for me.
Our dragonlady is quite an active one. From little hiccups to her swishing around inside my tummy, they can be felt throughout day and night. I see my tummy moving all the time!
This is somewhat different from how Thaddeus was like when I was carrying him. Thaddeus would be more active in the day and when we tell him it’s bedtime, all three of us would go to sleep. But Thaddeus proves that how it was like inside the tummy, may be very different from how it is going to be like outside the tummy. It took us a really long time to get long stretches of sleep at night!
Throughout the night, while I have my not-so-deep sleep with my aches and what-nots, I can feel the lil’ dragonlady having her own fun rolling about in my tummy. Some time between 3-6am, Thaddeus would make noise to come sleep with us in our bed. So that makes two bubs cuddling me when I sleep. Little wonder why I need to blast my aircon these days.
Because Thaddeus needs his lullaby ‘Somewhere Out There’ to sleep these days, I have been singing to him every night. It’s amazing how this song puts him right in the mood to zzZZzz. I love patting Thaddeus to sleep with one hand and patting my tummy with the other hand while I sing the lullaby to both of them. Very endearing mommy-moment for me! Especially when the lil’ dragonlady responds with more movements inside my tummy, as if she enjoys the song as much as her brother. 🙂
