We became KeatnCandice+1 with the arrival of Thaddeus and our lives are never the same again.
Parenthood has been challenging and overwhelming, but extremely rewarding. It changes entirely how you look at life and the things around you. The little milestones and little things Thaddeus achieves and do bring us so much joy, we forget how exhausting dealing with other aspects in life can be. We are falling deeper in love with our darling Thaddeus every day and feel incredibly blessed that we have him in our lives now.
I’m very proud of the husb. He took to his Daddy role very well, not that I’m surprised! He took most of the night shifts whenever I felt tired (even before I was pregnant!). He would do all the baby chores every night, if he does not have to be out. It’s very heartwarming to see how my then ah-beng boyfriend transform into a sweet husband and now, a doting father. Very thankful for my partner in life!
We are blessed with an unexpected gift this year and will be looking forward to KeatnCandice+2 in 2012!
MY BIG FAMILY
The support from my folks have helped us tremendously in the transition to parenthood. The husb and I were able to spend some time with each other with movie or dinner dates whenever we needed a timeout. We even got to take a 2-week holiday in Italy sans baby!
Now that I’m carrying #2, the extra help in terms of looking after Thaddeus is most welcomed. My brothers help out as well when the husb is away and my dear nephew, Matthias deserves much credit in helping to keep Thaddeus entertained most of the time! Can’t imagine doing this parenthood thingy without their support.
So the same friends who were pregnant around the same time have all popped as well! It’s been much fun during my short-term stint as a SAHM catching up with them and the kiddos. I’m missing all that very much now that I’m back to working full-time. Very glad that we are keeping up with the meetups and chats online!
Thanks to Thaddeus, I made a couple of new mommy-friends and grew my mommies-support-network! Well, he got to make some new baby friends too. Gotta love social media. 😉 Many a times, a tweet is all it takes to get some answers to baby issues! Not to mention, we are good company to each other during the nights when we had to wake up to breastfeed.
For the new year, I wish for good health and happiness for all my family and friends. Have a fantastic 2012, everyone!
