The husb and I were very nervous about this detailed scan. “Will they find anything wrong with our child?” “Will the baby be normal?” “Is he growing well inside?” So many questions, so much to worry about.
The scan took longer than usual because apparently, M&M is quite cheeky. He was either hiding behind my belly button or making the sonographer go after his foot to get a clear shot because he was wiggling around so much. But we both agreed that was reassuring to know!
The sonographer was scanning the ribcage area and I couldn’t help asking if my baby can actually reach that area. I was surprised to learn that his foot could reach my ribcage already! All this time, I thought he’s only around the lower abdominal area. Has he grown so much? Amazing. 🙂
When all the necessary measurements had been noted, the husb was brought in so that she can explain the scans and things that she was looking out for. We are relieved to know that everything seems normal and pray that he’ll be healthy and normal when he’s out.

We made a quick stop at my gynae’s to pass him the report so that he can take a look and let us know in layman terms what some of those graphs meant. Also, it was time to get the antenatal package and I finally remembered to ask about the Medisave for the antenatal visits. We are able to claim up to $450 from Medisave for these money spent on antenatal visits. Some savings, not too bad!

I couldn’t avoid the fish oil though. It’s DHA and supposedly very good for baby. So..yea, another supplement to take. The clinic assistant was very encouraging and told me that they had changed many brands based on feedback and this one was thus far, the one with no complaints (of smell or whatnots!) I shall know tonight. Wish me luck and hope that the capsule does NOT break!
Oh yes! Based on the detailed scan, M&M is a boy. I was a lil’ worried that the gender may not be confirmed because Yvonne’s #2 turned out to be a girl after the detailed scan was done, and I had already started shopping for clothes!
