Woke up with tummy ache today. Got us quite worried because it was in some lower tummy area where I never had pain before. Called up the clinic only to find out my gynae is out of town and will only be back tomorrow. Uh-oh. First taste of having the support away when you need it. Fortunately, I could see another gynae who’s one of his back-up doctors when he’s away. I was unable to wait til tomorrow or the day after because of work commitments. The next appointment with my gynae is this Saturday but the husb didn’t want to take any risk so we took whatever that’s available.
Initially I wanted to go alone since the husb was already at work. But he didn’t want to miss anything that the doctor might say, and of course, another opportunity to see M&M. If he missed this, the next time he’ll get to see M&M would be a few weeks later at the next appointment. Hence, he used his lunch hour to join us for the check. I was secretly glad for his company ‘cos it’s another gynae we’re seeing and a new pain I’m experiencing after all.
The back-up gynae was a very nice lady, thankfully! She explained the blood test results I took after the OSCAR screening and we’re doing so far so good. *phew* Another detailed scan a few weeks later! I told her about the lower tummy pain I was experiencing and about the nausea, puking and constipation that were still troubling me. A scan was done to ensure that there was no swelling on the inside and it seems that M&M is growing well. The pain is most likely stretching pain.
Here’s a closer glimpse at M&M. That’s the hand near the head – almost like doing a salute! At another angle, it almost seems like M&M was doing a “hi”!
The back-up gynae was quite cheeky. She wanted to try to look for signs of gender but it was still too early. Ha! Perhaps at the next checkup, if M&M is cooperative. 🙂
I got medicine for my constipation and the advice that my nausea and hurling episodes will fade away sometime soon between 14th-16th weeks. Hopefully really soon pleaseeee!
